2- In case the third country citizen, as well as members of his/her family, who meet the conditions to apply for a Digital Nomad Visa have already entered Greece either with a uniform type of visa or under a visa waiver regime, can, within the period of validity of their existing Visa, apply to the one-stop service of the Greek Ministry of Migration and Asylum for the issuance of a Digital Nomad residence permit. What are the requirements to issue a Digital Nomad Visa?
Most important requirement for receiving a Digital Nomad Visa is proof that the applicant has sufficient resources at a stable income, to cover living expenses during his/her stay in Greece, without burdening the national social welfare system. The amount of sufficient resources is set at thirty five hundred (3500) euros per month. This is increased if the applicant brings family members with him/her by 20% for the spouse and by 15% for each minor. If the applicant’s resources derive from dependent employment or independent provision of services, the above minimum amount refers to the net income. Additionally, the applicant would be required to provide documentation proving that he/she is working remotely with employers or clients outside Greece, covering the validity period of the Digital Nomad Visa.
What is the validity period?
A Digital Nomad Visa is valid for up to 12 months. If the third country national continues to be eligible following that period, then prior to the expiration of the Visa may apply for a Digital Nomad residence permit, with a 2-year validity period. Family members are also eligible in this case.
